Community Pledge: One year on
We kickstarted the year by celebrating our Community Pledge one-year anniversary in January. The Community Pledge is our national approach to supporting the communities in which we build.
Since we launched this initiative, we have created over 40 Community Pledges, which has involved charity donations, volunteering, launching Showhome of Supports, and visiting schools to present our Land to Life and Stay Safe, Stay Away lessons.
With lots of new developments set to launch next year, we’ll be introducing many new Pledges, so watch this space for a Community Pledge in an area near you.
Sustainability strides
Sustainability is at the core of everything we do and we have made excellent progress towards our sustainability targets this year.
In 2024 we completed our first net-zero-carbon enabled home at our Hampton Lakes development in Peterborough this year which was incredibly exciting.

2025 will continue to see us embed a culture of sustainability as we aim to reduce our environmental impact to become net-zero carbon enabled by 2030.
Moving customers into their dream home
Our favourite part of each year is always helping our customers find their dream homes and making their move a reality. For many, this is thanks to the incentives we have available to help you move.
Not only are there services like Part Exchange or Guaranteed Buyer, this year the Own New Rate Reducer scheme was introduced where we can invest in your mortgage, lowering your interest rate and giving movers lower monthly payments for the initial term of their mortgage.
Nurturing early careers
This year we welcomed 17 young people across a range of Early Career roles from all departments and regions of the business.
Our 2025 Early Careers programme has just launched ahead of Christmas giving those looking to start a career in the industry the opportunity to apply. For more information visit our vacancies page.
Celebrating our achievements
In March we received the maximum five-star rating for customer service from independent industry body, The Home Builders Federation (HBF).
This is an annual survey where new home buyers can measure customer satisfaction, with the five-star rating only awarded where more than 90% of buyers say they would recommend their housebuilder to a friend.
Cala has achieved the award for six consecutive years. In this year’s survey, Cala received a recommend score of 93.2% per cent.
Five of our site managers across the UK were also recognised in the prestigious Pride in the Job awards, whilst Ryan Lewis, Site Manager at Fernleigh Park in Stratford upon Avon, took home the highest honour, a Seal of Excellence. Recognition which is very well deserved.
Our Samaritans partnership
For the fifth year in a row, we remained a close charity partner to national suicide awareness charity, Samaritans, and achieved some exceptional results thanks to the dedication of our teams across the business.
Our colleagues’ efforts can’t go unrecognised as they have raised £55,492 this year to date with some brilliant fundraising activity. This includes a golf day organised by our Thames team, which raised more than £33,000, a North Home Counties charity five-a-side tournament, raising £7,500, and many employees took part in Dawn Walks across the country in October, as well as a few races.
Well done to all involved!
2024 was a busy year with so many new developments across Scotland and England, as well as some spectacular showhomes, which give prospective homebuyers the opportunity to view the high specification we offer at Cala.
It’s been one to remember, however we’re looking forward to 2025 and everything it will bring.
