1. Cambridge Christmas Afternoon Tea
A trip to Cambridge wouldn’t be complete without sampling one of its festive Christmas afternoon teas.
These are just two of our favourite Cambridge afternoon tea spots:
- Parkers Tavern – This well-established restaurant offers a delicious selection of savouries and sweets created by its pastry team. With traditional festive finger sandwiches and cranberry scones, accompanied by a pistachio Christmas tree with a mince pie filling, this afternoon delight is available every day from now until the 12th of January 2025.
- The Fellow’s House – This luxury apartment-style hotel is offering a truly indulgent Christmas Afternoon Tea at The Folio Bar, available now until Christmas Eve. Featuring Christmas classics such as turkey with cranberry sandwiches and festive desserts such as miniature chocolate logs and chestnut deer tart, there’s something to suit everyone.
2. Cambridge Christmas Market
Brand-new for 2024, ‘Christmas in Cambridge’ has arrived at the historic Parker’s Piece featuring Christmas Markets, the Alpine Lodge Bar, an ice rink, the Apres Terrace, the Christmas Tree Maze and The Big Wheel.
Whether you’re picking up last minute gifts from the Christmas markets, taking in the views from the ferris wheel or indulging in your festive foodie favourites, you’ll find everything you need to for a brilliant Christmas day out.

4. Waterbeach Christmas Market
Another must-visit Cambridge market is the brilliant Waterbeach Community Market which is celebrating its fifth birthday this year. To celebrate the special occasion, locals can pop along on the 15th December to take part in festivities, browse the local stalls and enjoy hot, spicy mulled wine, mince pies and enjoy a live performance from Waterbeach Brass.
The Waterbeach Community Market is located at the Waterbeach Barracks, which is only a short drive from our Cala at Waterbeach development, and its dog-friendly so the whole family can enjoy the festivities and shop local.
5. Cambridge University Botanic Garden Lights
The Cambridge Botanic Lights will once again bring this popular visitor destination to life with spectacular displays and artistic installations after dark.
The lights will highlight some of the Garden’s most beloved features and create special experiences around the rest of the Garden, ideal for families and friends. There will also be new, original installations that are unique to the Garden, as well as the return of some of last year’s most popular pieces.
The event will take place Thursdays to Sundays, starting on 29th November and running until 21st December so don’t miss out, its one of our favourite places to visit this Christmas in Cambridge.
