Located in Hertfordshire, the picturesque village of Bovingdon is the perfect place to set down roots. With just 9,000 inhabitants it’s the perfect mix of rural living whilst still being in commutable distance to central London and town of Hemel Hempstead.

Perfectly nestled in Bovingdon, you’ll find Ryder Gardens, a beautifully designed collection of three- and four-bedroom homes, designed with light and space in mind, with flexible floorplans to suit different prospective buyers and their lifestyles.

In this blog, we’ll showcase just why Bovingdon offers something for everyone.

Fledging witches and wizards alike will be in their element with a trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour London, which is located just a 20-minute drive from Ryder Gardens, where guests can experience the magic and see many of the sets and costumes. If you are looking for a taste of the outdoors, the nearby Chiltern Hills offer the opportunity for leisurely Sunday afternoon strolls or if you are looking to get your heart rate up, challenging hikes.

There’s also plenty to do with the little ones as Rock Up Watford isn’t far and it has a range of climbing experiences for all ages and abilities, and the UK’s first High Ropes course.

2. Great shops near Bovingdon

If you are looking for some retail therapy, then why not take a trip to nearby Hemel Hempstead where you can shop ‘til you drop. Marlowes Shopping Centre has a wide range of shops and is just 20 minutes away from Ryder Gardens. If you’re looking to go further afield, why not hop on the train to central London and hit Oxford Street, which is only an hour away from our development.

Travel links make it easy to go further afield however this development is only a 15-minute walk to Bovingdon’s high street which features an array of shops, cafes and pubs, so you don’t have to go far. Locals have both The Halfway House and The Bell on their doorstep, the perfect place to catch up with friends and neighbours.

Plus, Berkhamsted is less than five miles away for a wider range of amenities, including its popular weekly market, which runs on a Wednesday and Saturday, as well as the farmers market, which is held on the third Sunday of the month, offering a wide selection of products straight from the producers themselves.

3. Brilliant transport links

Bovingdon offers all the attributes of village living, whilst still having the option to easily commute to the nearby town of Hemel Hempstead, just 20 minutes by car, or 30 minutes by public transport, with regular buses going into the town.
