Cala Homes is bringing forward proposals for a beautiful development of new homes and green spaces on land to the north of Station Road.
The proposals will celebrate the Allen Brook Valley, enhancing this important open space with new trees, planting and naturalistic play which will protect its role in maintaining physical separation between Ashford and Fordingbridge whilst making it fully publicly accessible.
In response to local housing need and the allocation of the site in the New Forest District Council Local Plan, the plans include 210 homes - a mix of one- to four-bedroom homes for families, downsizers, and couples.
This website gives you the opportunity to view the proposals and provide your comments, which will help shape the proposals before a planning application is submitted to New Forest District Council.
On Monday 7th November, Cala held a public exhibition where local people could learn about the plans, ask questions to the project team and provide their feedback. You can access the exhibition boards by clicking the button below.

Cala Homes is consulting on its plans to provide a thoughtful, landscape-led residential scheme which will complement Ashford while providing new open spaces and enhancements to the Allen Brook Valley. The scheme is for circa 219 high-quality homes, of which 25-30% will be affordable, subject to a viability assessment.
The site, dubbed ‘Strategic Site 16’, or ‘SS16’ is 18-hectares in total and makes up one of three local strategic sites that has been chosen by the Council to meet local housing need.
The scheme will include a range of property types and sizes, from one- to four-bedroom properties to ensure a balanced community is created.
The proposals will celebrate the Allen Brook Valley, enhancing this important open space with new trees, planting and naturalistic play which will protect its role in maintaining physical separation between Ashford and Fordingbridge whilst making it fully publicly accessible. Development will be set to the west, adjacent to Ashford, with the architecture and arrangement of homes reflective of the local area.
Central to the scheme is the provision of pedestrian and cycle connections across the site for new and existing residents, enabling easier access to the Allen Brook Valley, the old railway line and Marl Lane.
